Silent Prayers for mourning lives
Is it the only comfort for pain and strife
Fields of green, tainted with blood
Relics of war, skeletons in the mud
All taken in with sympathy
But never an outcry of empathy
Standing there as passers by
Watching men, woman and children die
Or watching scenes so heinous to the eye
Thet they make your blood curl and you want to try
To kill the conflicted felons of war
And yet we not so much as utter a word
So what if it's a child's heart that they tore?
We reason with ourselves time and again
Until we are able to find
Attacks of our conscience
So impervious to these assaults we become
That in time we lose the ability to reason
We take for granted the very fact that makes us human
Yes I know that ignorance is bliss
That's why the modern day world came to be like this
Have we taken leave of our senses
So much so that we fight for petty grievances
We fight for caste, creed and religion
While children die in typhoons of man's creation
Starvation and poverty the cause of demise
The preveleged one's only sigh and offer
Silent Prayers for mourning lives
